Ryan Thomas sends sweet message to fiancee Lucy Mecklenburgh after 'first' as fans jump to defence over daughter

Ryan Thomas has shared a sweet public message to his fiancee Lucy Mecklenburgh after sharing a 'first'. The couple escaped the Christmas madness to enjoy a date night at one of Manchester's newest haunts.

Ryan and Lucy, who met on Bear Grylls' Channel 4 reality show Celebrity Island back in 2017 before getting engaged in 2019 during a romantic trip to Italy, headed into Manchester on Wednesday evening (December 17) to enjoy a date night Fenix, the new glamorous restaurant from the team behind popular city centre eatery Tattu.

The contemporary Greek-Mediterranean restaurant and bar opened its doors at the end of November and has since seen a few familiar faces pass through, including some of Ryan's former Coronation Street co-stars.

But it was all about Ryan and Lucy and the actor was keen to heap praise on his other half, who shot to fame on The Only Way is Essex, after they enjoyed their first Christmas since returning to live in Ryan's home city.

Sharing a video of them doing a 'cheers' with their drinks in the posh venue, Ryan, 36, typed to his Instagram followers: "This one has not stopped over Christmas & I'm truly grateful for making our first Christmas in Manchester so special," alongside a red love heart.

He then shared a picture of a smiling Lucy, who looked gorgeous in a brown long-sleeved top, which boasted a sweetheart neckline, that she wore tucked into black trousers with knee-high boots.
