Ryan Thomas looked unrecognisable as he did some skin prep ahead of his Dancing on Ice debut - after being mistaken for his younger brother Adam. The actor is currently preparing to take to the ice when the skating competition returns to screens on Sunday (January 14).

He will take to the ice alongside British ice skater Amani Fancy and it has already been revealed he'll skate in week one of the competition alongside fellow celebs Olympian Greg Rutherford, West End star Amber Davies, singer Hannah Spearritt, world champion boxer Ricky Hatton and Emmerdale actress Roxy Shahidi.

It won't be until the following weekend that Radio 1 star Adele Roberts, Coronation Street actress Claire Sweeney, ski jumper Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards, comedian Lou Sanders, Made in Chelsea star Miles Nazaire and former EastEnders actor Ricky Norwood will perform for the first time before the first skate-off and elimination of the series.

Ahead of the opening show, the stars of this year's show have been taking part in press days and media interviews to promote the new series as well as keep on top of their training. And it appears Ryan is doing all he can to stay in the best condition possible.

Taking to his Instagram Story, the former Coronation Street star, famed for playing Jason Grimshaw in the ITV soap, shared a selfie taken as he was lying in bed. He gave a thumbs up for the camera and you wouldn't have recognised him thanks to him enjoying a relaxing face mask as he wound down for the night.
