Mason Mount sends message to Manchester United fans after returning to training
Mason Mount says he is looking forward to returning to action for Manchester United after resuming light training on Wednesday morning.
The midfielder is undergoing individual sessions away from the main group as he continues his recovery from a calf injury sustained against Luton in mid-November. The summer signing is expected back before the end of January.
Mount has started just seven United games amid an uninspiring first few months of his United stay, which has been hampered by two injuries. The 24-year-old picked up a small knock against Tottenham back in August, causing him to miss more than a month's action.

However, the player is delighted to be working his way back up to fitness again following his latest issue. Taking to social media on Thursday morning, the midfielder said: “Hope you had a great Christmas Reds, can’t wait to be back out there with the lads!”
Mount was Erik ten Hag’s first signing of the summer at the price of an initial £55m. He is yet to score in 12 outings and has only managed to register one assist, setting up Casemiro’s header in September’s League Cup win over Crystal Palace.
Mount is one of nine first-team players suffering with injury, although Ten Hag could have a number back next month. Victor Lindelof, Casemiro, Harry Maguire, Tyrell Malacia and Lisandro Martinez are all tipped to return in the new year while Anthony Martial, Sofyan Amrabat and Luke Shaw could be back for Saturday’s clash with Nottingham Forest.
Amrabat and Shaw were both late absences from the 3-2 comeback win over Aston Villa on Tuesday after picking up minor knocks.
