Ryan Kent sees Fenerbahce cards marked as Rangers hero dobbed in by own boss amid Scott McKenna whisper

Ryan Kent's performances at Fenerbahce have been put under review by his manager - and the former Rangers star could be joined in Istanbul by a former adversary.

The winger left Ibrox at the end of last season and moved to Istanbul on a free transfer. He's grabbed a goal and two assists in 14 games but has been limited to mainly substitute appearances in the Super Lig alongside participation in the Europa Conference League.

According to Turkish reports, boss Ismail Kartal has reported to management at the club ahead of the international break to provide an update on "player performance and transfer requests." And it is claimed that "Ryan Kent's performance was below expectations." He joins Joshua King on the watchlist, with the former Premier League star told he is "injured too many times and therefore could not receive sufficient contribution." One of the transfer requests possibly comes in the form of a man Kent faced during time at Rangers, Scott McKenna

The Scotland defender is currently at Nottingham Forest and has featured five times so far this season. It's suggested Fenerbahce will "soon begin official negotiations" to bring Aberdeen's former defender to Turkey.

It would be the first time a Scottish player has turned out for the Turkish giants, and the eighth player overall to have made the move to that region. Stevie Mallan was the last to try it in 2020 when moving to Yeni Malatyaspor.

He is also competing to make Steve Clarke's Scotland squad that will head to Euro 2024 in Germany next season. Fenerbahce are currently top of the league on goal difference.
