Rangers news bulletin as Kartal Yilmaz reveals transfer interest before conditions 'not met' while Ryan Kent rules set

Besitkas midfielder Kartal Yilmaz has claimed Rangers showed an interest in signing him - but certain "conditions" were not met to seal the deal.

The 23-year-old - who is currently on loan at Kayserispor from the Turkish giants - has claimed that the Scottish Premiership side showed an interest in bringing him to Ibrox during the same summer they snapped up namesake Ridvan Ylimaz from Besiktas. And the playmaker has left the door open to a potential move to Rangers in the future if Philippe Clement opts to revive the interest shown by Gio van Bronckhorst back in 2022.

Speaking to Hurriyet, he set his ultimate goal as playing for Barcelona as the Turkey youth cap plots the next step in his career. Yilmaz said: "At that time (summer 2022), Glasgow Rangers was also interested in me after Rıdvan Yilmaz. I know this personally, but the transfer did not take place at that time because some conditions were not met.

"Of course, time will tell what will happen next. I believe that I will achieve my European dream as soon as possible. I want to play for Barcelona in La Liga one day. I’m a person who watches a lot of matches and I try to follow all leagues. There are players who are among the best in the world playing in my position. I watch these and try to add different things to myself from each of them."

Elsewhere, reports claim that Ryan Kent could link up with a former Rangers ally at Nottingham Forest to end his Fenerbahce struggles. Former Ibrox director of football Ross Wilson is now chief football officer at the City Ground and reports have suggested a loan move could be on in January.

However, Turkish outlet Sporx claim that the deal will only be given the green light by the Super Lig side if a clause to make the move
