Reo Hatate headlines 4 Celtic injury boosts as Cameron Carter Vickers return timeline set

Reo Hatate is back training for Celtic in what Brendan Rodgers has described as a huge boost to his side.

The Japanese has been missing from a chunk of the opening sequence of the Scottish Premiership season for the Parkhead side due to injury, while he also ponders signing a new deal with the Scottish champions. Hatate, who missed the Hoops' vital 1-0 win over rivals Rangers before the international break, is back on the training field at Lennoxtown as the Irish coach looks to deploy the exciting midfielder as soon as possible. Meanwhile there was positive news on key defender Cameron Carter-Vickers who has also missed the curtain raisers in the league.

The American won't make the first Champions League game against Feyenoord but was named among Rodgers' squad. But the Celtic coach has revealed the towering centre-half could be back in action as early as next month. Meanwhile Hoops fans can get excited over the incoming debuts of Nat Phillips, Luis Palma and Paulo Bernardo with the Liverpool defender looking to take his chance against Dundee.

Rodgers told Celtic TV: "Hatate is back training with the squad which is great news. His energy been really good, he's worked really hard since picking up the injury against Aberdeen. I'm really pleased he's back, he's a top midfield player and his mind is focused on playing in the team and doing well.

"Nat Phillips is training with the squad so hopefully be available for the weekend. Carter-Vickers is a little bit away, probably early October before he's back but he's out on the grass and working well.
