Upbeat Maurizio Sarri has warned Celtic his Lazio side are purring ahead of next week's Champions League crunch in Glasgow,

Celtic welcome the Rome giants for clash on matchday two of the group stage, after starting off with defeat in Rotterdam to Feyenoord. Lazio won just their second match of the season with a 2-0 victory over Torino and veteran boss Sarri believes that could kickstart their season. The Lazio boss said: "I don't think we are back because we never left. In our last four games, we have collected seven points and two of those games were against Juventus and Napoli. But I understand we needed to get a win here.

Unfortunately, we have lost two league games already and that's why it was important to get the victory in what is never an easy game against Torino. I told the boys to worry about the performance and not think about the results and you could see how good they were. Now we have two very important away games against AC Milan and Celtic."

And Uruguayan international midfielder Matias Vecino admitted they needed the three points. He said: "We had to start again in our situation. We had a team meeting and we had to get back to basics. We have always been united, we know we are strong but we have to play as a team. It's important for us to take a lot from this ahead of a couple of really big games in the league and in Europe."
