Rangers misfit Jose Cifuentes finally arrives at Cruzeiro as take 2 for 'next level' flop officially begins

Jose Cifuentes has finally arrived at Cruzeiro to begin his year-long loan spell.

The Ecuadorian only arrived at Ibrox in the summer as part of Michael Beale's ill-fated Rangers rebuild. The midfielder took a while to jet into Glasgow from LA Galaxy, with Beale talking him up as a player who could help take Rangers to "the next level." That didn't transpire though, with the 24-year-old struggling to establish himself as a regular start in midfield. His appearances became more limited after Philippe Clement's arrival, and a red card against Dundee didn't help his cause.

The January signing of Mohamed Diomande spelled the end of Cifuentes' time in Govan, and he agreed a temporary switch to the Brazilian giants last week, who have an option to make the deal permanent. Now he has finally joined up with his new team-mates at Toca do Raposa with all the red tape taken care of.
