Police cordon off street in stabbing as male left with 'life-changing' injury

A male has been left with a 'life-changing injury' after a stabbing on a busy street in Tameside.

Police descended on Manchester Road in Denton amid reports of a 'disturbance' just before 11pm last night (Monday, October 14). A male was stabbed in the incident, a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said.

He suffered a 'potentially life-changing leg injury'. No arrests have been made, with an investigation now underway into the stabbing.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing a stretch of Manchester Road taped off last night as police and paramedics responded. The cordon was in place into the early hours, near the road's junction with Stockport Road.

In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "Officers responded to reports of a disturbance on Manchester Road in Denton at 10:49pm yesterday (Monday 14 October). A male was stabbed and suffered a potentially life-changing leg injury.

"No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing. Officers are now appealing for any witnesses to come forward and assist their investigation.
