Man found dead as police shut off street
Police have closed off a Greater Manchester street after a man was found dead. Officers were called out to Uplands in Alkrington, Middleton, following concerns for a man's welfare this morning (October 31).
Tragically, officers found the man's body after arriving on the scene. His death is not being treated as suspicious, Greater Manchester Police says.
Police remain in attendance on Uplands this afternoon. Two GMP cars and a police van have been parked up on the street, while a stretch of Uplands remains taped off.
