Philippe Clement enters his Rangers endgame as Hotline accuses Ibrox board of taking fans for granted

Rangers boss Philippe Clement is busy finalising preparations for the new season on the field – but supporters are more worried by the performances of those off it.

It’s the members of the boardroom under Hotline fire as the Ibrox stadium cock-up combined with Clement’s admission he needs to sell before he can buy has got punters in a flap before a ball has even been kicked. That’s not entirely true as Saturday’s 2-0 friendly defeat to a makeshift Manchester United did little to ease their worries with Clement missing the post match presser to dash off to a wedding.

Gordon Blackwell, Glasgow, said: “The Rangers support are taken for granted by both the current and past boards. Despite continuing loyalty through thick and thin, the board show no loyalty back. Emails go unanswered as they look at a full stadium and do not care who is sitting in the seats, as long as somebody is. The money made during the Europa League run and the transfers of Calvin Bassey, Joe Aribo and Nathan Paterson has mysteriously disappeared.”

Jamie Thompson, Yoker, said: “Rangers need quality players but are the players signed so far good enough? What is going on with this board at Rangers? It's one disaster after another. Rangers supporters will not put up with failure again. We need Lawrence Shankland and Bojan Miovski. And a strong defence - no 5ft defenders.”

And Eddie Easson, Ballingry, added: “Clement is now playing the end game. Dodging a press conference to go to a wedding. Money all spent at Poundland. Stadium falling apart. Big names wanting out. Thoroughly spanked by a Man Utd youth team. It’s all falling apart at Ibrox - a board with no forward planning and with some jumping off the sinking ship.”

With tongue firmly in cheek, Micha
