Stephen Bradley aware of size of task facing Shamrock Rovers in Champions League tie with Sparta Prague

Shamrock Rovers manager Stephen Bradley says there's no sense of his side being in bonus territory ahead of tomorrow night's Champions League second qualifying round against Sparta Prague.

The Hoops advanced through the opening round in Europe's premier club competition for the second time in three seasons, seeing off Icelandic outfit Víkingur Reykjavík 2-1 last week.

But the Czech outfit will present a tougher test for Bradley's side, displaying European pedigree which saw them reach the last 16 of the Europa League last season, only to be thwarted by Liverpool.

Their squad contains players who got game time at the recent Euros in Germany, including Qazim Laci (Albania), Veljko Birmancevic (Serbia) and Czech duo Martin Vitik and Jan Kuchta.

They opened their Chance Liga campaign with a 2-1 victory over FK Pardubice on Friday, with Matej Rynes and Victor Olatunji scoring the goals.

"We're obviously against a team which has operated at the top level and have done for a number of years," Bradley told RTÉ Sport ahead of the game.

"We know that but when you cross the white line it's eleven versus eleven.

"They are extremely dangerous. They're a top team. They have internationals all around their squad. You know what you are up against. We want to be here, we want to compete. We want to win the tie and we know that is difficult but that is what we want to do.

"We know what we're up against in terms of opposition. We know how good they are but we're here to compete and try to win games. That is going to be the aim. Our full focus is trying to win the game."

In previous campaigns Rovers often arrived into their European campaign with a confidence boosting lead over the the chasing pack in the League of Ireland.
