Philippe Clement rallies Rangers fans to bring Dynamo heat as boss declares 'let's blow the ROOF off Hampden'

Philippe Clement has urged Rangers fans to raise the roof at Hampden and roar them into the Champions League.

The Belgian boss wants the supporters to recreate an Ibrox atmosphere at the National Stadium next week when Dynamo Kyiv arrive in Glasgow. Rangers secured a 1-1 first-leg draw in Poland on Tuesday night to give them the upper hand in their third qualifying round tie.

Clement knows nothing will compare to the noise levels at Ibrox on a big European night. But while they’re using Hampden as a temporary home, he’s pleaded with the Gers support to make it a cauldron for the Ukrainians. If Clement’s side can get through, they’ll face a Champions League play-off against FC Twente or RB Salzburg.

And as he looked ahead to the Kyiv second-leg, the Rangers gaffer said: “The crowd for the second-leg will be crucial for us. They’ve been amazing in the European nights at Ibrox.

“They made so much noise and had so much positivity. In certain moments, the roof came off. I hope we also get that at Hampden. It will be different for them but I hope they support the team in the same way and see everyone is working really hard.

“There are a lot of circumstances right now. We are not at our top due to players coming back from injury or missing part of pre-season - and we’ve had new players coming in. But there’s a lot of potential in this squad to grow and to become better. We count on all the positivity and support of our fans to push the players every time to their maximum, in a good way, which they did for all of last season.”
