Paul Merson disagrees with two pundits over Chelsea vs Man City score prediction

TV pundit Paul Merson is tipping Chelsea to follow up their impressive win over Tottenham with a point against Pep Guardiola and his treble-winners on Sunday afternoon - but his contemporaries are backing Manchester City to continue their pursuit for a fourth straight title with victory.

Chelsea were 4-1 winners against Tottenham in their latest Premier League game after the north Londoners were reduced to 10 men in a feisty cross-capital match. City, meanwhile, were relentless in gunning down Bournemouth as Jeremy Doku scored and helped himself to four assists in a 6-1 verdict.

It will be a step up for Guardiola and his players at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon. Here is how the pundits including Merson see that meeting playing out.

I was bullish last week when I said Chelsea were going to beat Tottenham. I said that because Chelsea like teams coming at them. I think there'll be some outstanding battles all over the pitch.

Chelsea will cause City problems and vice versa. I don't see the Blues winning this one.

That's only because Manchester City have so many game-changers. They are spoilt for choice. I don't see how any team will finish above them. I'm hoping Chelsea get a draw.

Score prediction: Chelsea 1-1 Manchester City

The result really depends on how City play rather than what Chelsea try to do. Guardiola's side have a few injuries to contend with, but it doesn't really make much difference who comes in or out of their team.

Their squad is just so strong. Guardiola also has a nice problem in terms of who to pick on the left, Jeremy Doku or Jack Grealish. You never know with Pep.
