Harry Maguire pinpoints next challenge for Manchester United after Luton Town victory

Harry Maguire insists there is still plenty of room for improvement at Manchester United ahead of their packed winter schedule.

United climbed up to sixth position in the Premier League with a hard-fought 1-0 win at home to Luton Town on Saturday afternoon. Victor Lindelof scored the only goal of the game just before the hour-mark, rifling home after the ball fell to him in the box following a set-piece.

It was a second consecutive 1-0 league win for Erik ten Hag's side, following last weekend's late victory at Fulham. But neither performance saw United at their scintillating best and Maguire is not getting carried away with results.

"We've won the game from probably a second phase of a set-play, so they're important," Maguire told MUTV. "I think, this year, we've improved on them because, in my time at this club, we haven't been good enough at attacking set-plays.

"We can improve a lot more, for sure. We had a slow start to the season, but I think our form is slightly turning around.

"We've got a big game in the Champions League coming up at Galatasaray. But we've got to play like we did in Copenhagen and in the Premier League, the next game, Everton, another tough game, physical game, and we've got to make sure we're ready."

Defenders have been United's best attackers this season, with Lindelof the fourth to walk off the pitch as their match-winner. Ten Hag's forwards are misfiring in front of goal, with Marcus Rashford operating short of his best and Rasmus Hojlund yet to score in the Premier League.
