Man City vs RB Leipzig LIVE team news and predictions for Champions League fixture

Manchester City return to Champions League action on Tuesday evening.

The Blues welcome fellow Champions League Group G side RB Leipzig to the Etihad Stadium and will be full of confidence going into the game despite being held to a 1-1 draw with Liverpool on Saturday.

City defeated the German side 3-1 in Leipzig earlier in the campaign and are already safely through to the knock-out stages with two games to spare. However, Pep Guardiola will be keen on ensuring top place is sewn up before the final group stage match at Red Star Belgrade in two week's time.

City go into the game without the injured midfield trio of Kevin De Bruyne, Matheus Nunes and Mateo Kovacic. However, John Stones could make his return to action after being named on the bench for the weekend's Premier League 1-1 draw with Liverpool following a muscular injury.

Pep Guardiola didn't seem overly confident of having any other players back for today, but it must be a boost to have had Jack Grealish and Mateo Kovacic back in training. Any minutes tonight for them will surely ensure they are in the squad for Tottenham at the weekend, and it will be interesting to see if John Stones is tried for a few.

Erling Haaland scored against every Champions League opponent last season until the semi-final and will have eyes on another individual award this year. He has four from four games but all of those have come against Young Boys after blanks in his first two matches. With five against RB Leipzig last year, he will hope to cash in again at the Etihad tonight to add the German side to his list of scalps for this season.
