Paddy McGuinness reveals 'why' he was drafted in to This Morning as fans have say on divisive role

Paddy McGuinness has jokingly shared the reason he was drafted in to host This Morning amid more changes to the show. Alison Hammond was back at the helm on Friday (March 12) but she was without her usual co-host Dermot O'Leary.

The former X Factor star was taking a day off so Paddy stepped in after Rochelle Humes and Andi Peters hosted the show for the rest of the week. The latest change comes after it was confirmed Martin Lewis would host the show for the first time on Monday (March 4) alongside Josie Gibson.

It comes ahead of Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley officially starting their new roles on the programme on March 11 after being named the new permanent duo to take over Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby - who shockingly quit within months of each other last year.

But back to Paddy and upon starting Friday's show with Alison, he quipped: "I'm giving us 20 minutes before we're taken off air. I've had to put another T-shirt on because my nipples have got a mind of their own..."

Holding her temporary partner's waist, and excited Alison said: "This was always going to happen. We'll be fine and you look so good. Seriously though, thank you for coming in."

It is then when he jokingly commented on while he was co-hosting, with the 50-year-old saying: "I'm loving it. I've got Dermot O'Leary and Ben Shephard tied up in my dressing room. That's how I like it! We've got a corker for you today."
