Alison Hammond says 'time to say farewell' in update amid This Morning absence

Alison Hammond has told fans that it's 'time to say farewell' as she offered an update during her This Morning absence. Following her last show on March 1, the presenter confirmed she was taking a month-long break from her usual Friday slot on the ITV daytime show.

Sharing a selfie of herself and Paddy McGuinness as they sat on the famous This Morning sofa after he filled in for Dermot O'Leary for one show, Alison told her fans and followers on Instagram: "Well that was fun @mcguinness.paddy until next time @thismorning...

"I’m taking this month off @thismorning and lovely @josiegibson85 will be filling in for me with @dermotoleary. Gonna have some time off to move into my new house and chill with my son. See you in April love ya babs."

And it didn't take her fans and followers long to respond. @mrsjamo06 said: "Will miss you. Love your energy on this morning. You always make me chuckle." @alisonhammond_fp commented: "Gonna miss youuu have a good time of well deserved time of love you. Good luck with ur new house babs." @daddiodad added: "Enjoy a well earned break bab! You’re the hardest working woman on telly!"

Josie has since been seen in Alison's place during last Friday's show (March 8) which also marked International Women's Day. As Josie and Dermot kicked off the show, they paid a brief tribute to the women in their lives with Alison amongst them as well as former host Holly Willoughby.
