Michael Beale responds to Rangers fan frustrations after Servette win as boss delivers Scott Wright transfer update

Michael Beale challenged the Rangers stars not playing every week to grasp their chance when it eventually comes along.

And the boss was looking to the positives despite grumbling fan frustrations following their sluggish 2-1 victory over Servette. Beale has overseen a mixed start to the season with Gers falling to a 1-0 defeat against Kilmarnock to open their Premiership season. They started well against Servette in the first leg of their Champions League qualifier but only managed a 2-1 win against a team who played the final half hour with ten men.

That led to some grumbles from fans who were left disgruntled by their team's inability to kill the tie off at home. And while Beale understands it, he was quick to remind fans it's a new team with his new forward line - which includes Cyriel Dessers, Sam Lammers and Danilo - yet to gel.

He said ahead of this weekend's clash with Livingston: "This is the start of a new season and it is important we don't go overboard - but of course it is important to win this weekend.

"These players have come in from different places but what I am seeing from the players so far, I am happy with - I have a lot of faith in them. Everyone has hopes and aims for the season, both within the league and other competitions. We have changed our forward players so settling will take a bit of time.

"It is important when players get the opportunity to play that they come in and show what they can do. There are demands but none of these players got to this level without demanding a lot from themselves anyway. This is a unique place and there are high demands - there is an expectation and every game means something.
