Matt O'Riley in Celtic transfer exit frame as Real Betis 'discuss' making move while La Liga duo monitor midfielder

Celtic could face a fight to keep Matt O'Riley as a clutch of La Liga clubs run the rule over the Danish youth international.

The midfielder joined the Premiership champions from MK Dons in January 2022 and has impressed throughout his time at Parkhead, attracting plenty of rumours that other clubs are keen on his services. According to the Daily Mail, Real Betis, Valencia and Sevilla are 'all monitoring developments over his future this summer.'

It's the former who look the most likely to make a first move, with the report claiming 'Real Betis are discussing a potential offer over the coming days.' Brighton are another club said to hold 'keen interest in his progress' with the Premier League no doubt a tempting proposition. O'Riley is under contract at Celtic until the summer of 2026 and he would command a hefty fee to get Parkhead chiefs even considering parting ways with one of their prized assets.

One valuable player has already departed Celtic this summer. Jota has been unveiled as an Al-Ittihad player following a £25m deal with the Hoops. Others meanwhile are committing their futures to the side now managed by Brendan Rodgers. Kyogo, Daizen Maeda and Callum McGregor have all penned long-term extensions.
