Kwon Hyeok Kyu given Celtic transfer green light as club manager reveals move is imminent

Kwon Hyeok-kyu is set to sign for Celtic after Busan lPark manager Park Jin-seop confirmed his departure is imminent.

The midfielder has been on the Parkhead club's radar since the early days of Ange Postecoglou's tenure but interest has stepped up since Brendan Rodgers' return to the club. He's set to join alongside fellow South Korean Yang Hyun-jun whose move was announced by Gangwon on Saturday but is curiously yet to be confirmed by Celtic.

But it could be that the Parkhead club are holding off for a double reveal as Busan boss Park confirmed the K-League 2 clash with Seongnam would be Kwon's final game for the club. He said: "It's unfortunate, but the player's future comes first, and growth comes first." The South Korean pair are set to join Hyeongyu Oh at Celtic Park and follow the arrivals of Marco Tilio and Odin Thiago Holm with the second Brendan Rodgers era taking firm shape.

Celtic are going for glory once more as they embark on a new era.

Brendan Rodgers is back as manager as the Treble winners target another season of domination in Scotland and a shot at glory in the Champions League.
