Manchester United transfer news LIVE Eriksen to Man Utd latest plus Cristiano Ronaldo and Malacia updates

Manchester United are closing in on their first two signings of the summer transfer window.

Following an eventful start to the week, Christian Eriksen should be a United player sooner rather than later. MEN Sport reported yesterday that Eriksen had verbally agreed to join the Reds on a three-year contract.

This news came after Tyrell Malacia was spotted arriving at Carrington to complete his medical ahead of a move to Old Trafford. Meanwhile, question marks remain over the future of Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo did not report back for training yesterday like the rest of his United international teammates. A senior club source at the Theatre of Dreams said that he was missing due to 'family reasons' - an explanation the club 'accepted'.

Over the weekend reports emerged that Ronaldo had asked the Reds to accept 'reasonable' offers for him should they be received. However, United are said to be adamant that the Portuguese ace is not for sale.

Former Premier League midfielder Danny Murphy has been left "underwhelmed" by the news Christian Eriksen has verbally agreed to sign for Manchester United.
