Manchester United transfer news RECAP Frenkie de Jong to Man Utd updates and Cristiano Ronaldo latest

Manchester United have made three signings during the summer transfer window and continue to pursue Frenkie de Jong and other targets as part of their rebuild under Erik ten Hag.

Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez have been welcomed on board by the Dutchman - and work is being done behind the scenes to add De Jong to that list. It is a move over 10 weeks in the making and there have been complications due to his current terms at Barcelona.

Speculation over Cristiano Ronaldo continues to mount, meanwhile, with the Portugal captain wanting to leave as the club insist that he will not be sold during the summer transfer window. Ronaldo made a sensational return move to United last season after hugely-successful 12 years with Real Madrid and Juventus.

On the pitch, United clocked up a third straight pre-season win on Tuesday against Crystal Palace. Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho were on target at the famous MCG.
