Man City transfer news LIVE Raheem Sterling to Chelsea latest as Phillips signs plus Gnabry updates

Manchester City completed their third signing of the summer on Monday as the club officially confirmed Kalvin Phillips' move from Leeds.

Phillips joins for £42m on a six year contract, and takes Vincent Kompany's iconic number four shirt. He said: "To be able to play under Pep and learn from him and his coaching staff as well as be part of such a fantastic squad is a prospect that I am incredibly excited about."

The announcement of Phillips' arrival was followed by Leeds' £5m capture of academy player Darko Gyabi, while Arsenal also confirmed their £45m capture of City striker Gabriel Jesus. Tommy Doyle's season-long loan to Sheffield United was another deal to be confirmed on a busy Monday.

Elsewhere, Raheem Sterling's move to Chelsea could move a step closer on Tuesday after MEN Sport reported last week that Chelsea's owner Todd Boehly had made a private request to the Blues in the hope of getting the signing over the line. In other news, it's understood that City won't pursue a deal for Bayern Munich winger Serge Gnabry if Sterling leaves, contrary to reports.
