Manchester United's takeover situation is seemingly not impacting their transfer plans as the club agree a £60m deal for Mason Mount.

There had been fears the Glazers were reluctant to spend on arrivals amid the uncertain future of the club. Finances are being restricted, but this is due to Financial Fair Play as opposed to funds availability.

Meanwhile, reports today claim Sir Jim Ratcliffe's takeover bid is 'dead in the water'.

The proposal put forward by the INEOS billionaire is said to not sit well with minority shareholders, who have apparently made it clear that such a bid is not acceptable.

All the while, Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al-Thani is reportedly confident that he is leading the race but is also preparing for the possibility that the Glazers may opt against selling the club. It comes after rumours not all Glazers wish to sell up.

It has been more than seven months since the Glazers announced plans to 'explore strategic alternatives' for investment, but the American family have done little to reassure supporters since. Some fans attended Tuesday's home shirt release at Old Trafford to protest.
