Manchester United takeover news LIVE Sheikh Jassim win could mean 'six more signings' as Man Utd share price slumps

Manchester United started their pre-season campaign yesterday but there is still no further clarity on who will own the club beyond this summer.

A 2-0 win against Leeds United in Oslo kicked off the summer with optimism but pockets of fans inside the Ullevaal Stadion were still singing against the Glazers, suggesting the anger towards the current owners may follow the squad to Edinburgh and then the United States.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani remain the frontrunners to win the race, but the Glazers are yet to decide on a preferred bidder and frustration is growing around the club.

United's share price dropped again on Wednesday, with no developments in sight any time soon as fans remain in the dark as to when the controversial owners will finally leave.

Take a look at all of the news from the takeover process below:

United could apparently sign six more players this summer, should Sheikh Jassim win the takeover race.

The Express draws on speculation that the Qatari would hand United another £50m towards their transfer budget.

Erik ten Hag has been given a wallet of around £100m-£120m, with an initial £55m already splashed on Mason Mount.

The club retains an interest in Inter goalkeeper Andre Onana and Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund.

With the conclusion of the takeover process not yet in sight, the market is reacting accordingly.

United's share price on the New York Stock Exchange slipped to $22.92 on Tuesday and fell as low as $22.39 on Wednesday afternoon.

It has rebounded to $22.86 as of close on Wednesday, still below yesterday's close total. The stock valuation has slowly slipped over the past five days.

Good morning all and welcome to our LIVE takeover blog this Thursday.
