Manchester United duo and four Man City stars named in latest England squad

England manager Gareth Southgate has named a combined total of six Manchester City and Manchester United players in his squad for the Three Lions' upcoming internationals.

England will conclude their 2024 European Championship qualifying campaign later this month. They face Malta at Wembley on Friday, November 17, ahead of travelling to North Macedonia three days later.

The Three Lions wrapped up qualification for next summer's showpiece event in Germany last month with a 3-1 win over current European champions Italy at Wembley. It means Southgate's side have already clinched top spot in Group C.

Though the job is done and dusted, he has refused to overlook his most senior and important players for the upcoming double-header, naming a 25-man squad packed to the rafters with star-studded talent. City quartet Kyle Walker, Kalvin Phillips, Phil Foden and Jack Grealish have made the cut, as have United duo Harry Maguire and Marcus Rashford.

Rashford scored on his last England outing, netting the Three Lions' second goal in their win over Italy. He has been joined in the attacking department by players including Harry Kane, Bukayo Saka, Jarrod Bowen and James Maddison.

However, England will have to make do without John Stones because of injury. The City defender, who has been a key figure for Southgate in recent years, was forced off at half-time during the Blues' 3-0 win over BSC Young Boys in the Champions League on Tuesday evening.
