Coronation Street fans say 'I never thought' as they makes Underworld factory demand and staff revolt
Coronation Street fans were left taken aback as they said they 'never' thought they'd see Evelyn Plummer working at Underworld. The much-loved character hasn't suddenly got herself a job at the factory, however, but was simply helping out Carla Connor.
Carla's troubles continued during Wednesday night's (November 8) trip to Weatherfield after she lied to the staff, claiming she'd be able to pay them by the end of the day because the bank had traced funds stolen by Stephen Reid, after they'd been working for free on a big client that could help in fixing some of their latest money woes.
But in reality, Sarah Barlow had already informed Carla that the almost £250,000 Stephen had stolen from the factory accounts before his death was nowhere to be found. And Carla's lie was quickly uncovered, leading the staff to start striking outside the factory.

Peter then managed to convince Sally Metcalfe, Kirk Sutherland and Izzy Armstrong to complete the work alongsdie Evelyn, Roy Cropper, Nina Lucas and Simon Barlow.
