Man United can finally sanction double transfer for Erik ten Hag using £68m Chelsea blueprint

Manchester United could soon sanction a double transfer that Erik ten Hag will love.

The Reds have already signed Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro, with arrivals for Bayern Munich duo Matthijs De Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui to be confirmed imminently after West Ham announced the addition of Aaron Wan-Bissaka. Though that will be four players through the door at Old Trafford and nearly £150million spent, United are not done there.

A priority ahead of the summer window beginning was to sign a new forward, defender, and midfielder, with the latter still needing to be completed. Joao Neves was a target in the early weeks of June, though he has since joined Paris Saint-Germain from Benfica.

Since then Sander Berge, Youssouf Fofana and Martin Zubimendi have all been linked, though reports stated Manuel Ugarte was no longer being considered because of his steep asking price. A return for Sofyan Amrabat is also under consideration, but Ugarte certainly appears to be the best addition for a number of reasons, with talks now back on.

Firstly, following their decision to sign Neves for a fee in the region of £50.6million (€60m), Ugarte looks to have the green light to seal an exit just 12 months on from joining. The French giants could also be open to selling at a lower price and potentially even sanction a season-long loan that could suit United. Though if that scenario does not play out, United have an extra incentive to sign the Uruguay international on a permanent deal.
