Manuel Ugarte drops cryptic Man United transfer hint after deal finally agreed

Manuel Ugarte has teased his imminent transfer to Manchester United after the club reached an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain over a deal. The 23-year-old is expected to travel to England on Tuesday in order to complete a medical ahead of signing a long-term deal.

Having chased the Uruguayan throughout the summer it will be a move that addresses a key need in Erik ten Hag's squad. United will pay an initial £42.3million for Ugarte with a possible £8.5million in add-ons.

Ugarte's transfer has been on the verge for a while now with the two European powerhouses discussing a structure after personal terms were agreed. United now believe that their patient approach has paid off with a favourable price being finalised.

Before the deal is announced - likely to come later this week - Ugarte has jumped the gun himself. Taking to Twitter/X, he simply posted a single emoji of a pair of eyes.

Perhaps indicating his excitement to join United, the PSG man is now all but certain to start a new chapter of his career. After just one season in France, Ugarte is set to exit Ligue 1.

He only made the big switch from Portugal to Paris 12 months ago but struggled to make an impact under Luis Enrique. Ugarte did impress at Copa America though.

United will add Ugarte to their midfield ranks which already includes Kobbie Mainoo, Casemiro, and Mason Mount. Scott McTominay is closing in on a sale to Napoli.

Ugarte will also join new signings Leny Yoro, Joshua Zirkzee, Matthijs de Ligt, and Noussair Mazraoui.
