Major road next to Trafford Centre closed due to 'police incident' - latest updates

A major road next to the Trafford Centre has been closed following a 'police incident'.

It's thought the incident took place on the westbound side of Trafford Boulevard. It has been closed by cops since just after 5:30pm

Now, motorists are being turned around on Ellesmere Circle, in Trafford Park. It's also led to several bus firms diverting services.

"Due to a police incident, all routes into Ellesmere Circle, Trafford Park are closed. Delays are expected through Trafford Park and the Trafford Centre," Transport for Greater Manchester posted on social media.

As of 7pm, the AA and Google are still advising the large closure is in place.

The latest update from traffic service Inrix says: "Barton Dock Road Southbound blocked due to accident investigation work before B5214 Trafford Boulevard (Ellesmere Circle). Traffic is being turned around in all directions from Ellesmere Circle."

According to the M.E.N. staffer at the scene, 'skid marks' are visible on the roundabout. They have also confirmed some of the cars behind the cordon previously pictured have been allowed to leave.
