Why Jadon Sancho and Antony's situations have changed at Manchester United

Mikael Silvestre is expecting more from Jadon Sancho and Antony at Manchester United this season - with the former defender predicting the Brazilian will perform better in his second season.

Englishman Sancho is yet to consistently sparkle at Old Trafford since his £73m move from Borussia Dortmund two years ago. Sancho has 12 goals in 79 appearances so far for United.

Another United player who perhaps more can be expected of after a big money move is Antony. Following his initial £82m switch from Ajax last summer, the Brazilian scored eight goals in 44 games in his first season at Old Trafford.

Former United defender Silvestre believes Sancho is potentially facing a final chance in Erik ten Hag's side and must start to show consistency in goals and assists to bring out more of the best in him. He has also tipped Antony for a big role this season and to have his opportunity to impress in his second campaign at Old Trafford.

Speaking to Bettingexpert.com, Silvestre said: “I don’t know if it will be Jadon Sancho’s last chance at Man United, but he has the opportunity to be more clinical, which is what he is missing.

"He needs to be consistent and add more goals and assists to his game. We should all expect that from him, and we should definitely see the best version of Jadon Sancho at Man United this season.
