Maidstone United manager George Elokobi discusses an emotional day at the Gallagher Stadium after 2-1 victory over Worthing in his final home match in charge

Maidstone United gave manager George Elokobi the perfect Gallagher Stadium send-off as he took charge of his final home game.

The Stones came from a goal down to beat Worthing 2-1, denying their opponents the National League South title and taking their own play-off bid to the final day of the season.

“The Maidstone community have been outstanding in terms of their support and how they’ve backed myself, my management team and my players in the three seasons I’ve been here as a manager.

“What a way to finish here but it’s not goodbye, there’ll be moments where I’ll still come, I’ll watch us, I’ll make sure I am supporting as a big fan - I’m your No.1 fan.

“I’ll be so passionate
