M60 shuts after two cars crash
Part of the M60 was closed following a crash this evening. The clockwise carriageway was shut between junctions six and eight, near Stretford and Sale, from about 7.30pm tonight (February 16).
National Highways said there was debris and barrier damage on the motorway. Traffic was diverted away from the outer ring road.
A spokesperson for National Highways North West posted on X (formerly Twitter): "#M60 clockwise is closed near #Chorltonville #Sale #Stretford between J6 and J8 due to a collision, debris and barrier damage. Traffic is diverted via the 'feeder' roads that run parallel with the M60.

"@NWmwaypolice are in attendance with our Traffic Officers." Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said the crash involved two cars shortly before 7pm.
A service spokesperson added: "Two fire engines from Stretford and Wythenshawe fire station were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving two cars on the M60 between junction seven and eight. Crews arrived quickly at the scene.
"Firefighters used bolt croppers to make the area safe. Firefighters were in attendance for around 20 minutes.” The road reopened at around 8.40pm.
