Man cut free from wreckage and woman rushed to hospital after 'head on' crash shuts main road

A man was cut free from a car wreckage with another woman also rushed to hospital after a serious 'head on' crash on a main road on Sunday night (March 3).

Police, paramedics and fire crews raced to the scene of the major collision on Wildhouse Lane, near to Hollingworth Lake, in Rochdale, at around 7.50pm.

A man who had to be rescued from one of the vehicles was taken to hospital in an ambulance alongside a woman, who was driving the other car involved, who was also left injured.
