M6 LIVE as all traffic stopped due to ongoing police incident - updates
All traffic has been stopped on the M6 this afternoon due to an ongoing police incident in Cheshire.
Emergency services are currently in attendance due to a reported collision on the southbound carriageway from J17 A534 Old Mill Road (Sandbach / Crewe) to J16 A500 (Stoke-On-Trent/Crewe).
Highways cameras show how all traffic is currently being held. Congestion is building in the area with motorists urged to prepare for delays.

Two lanes are currently closed, with delays remaining.
There are delays of around 45 minutes this evening with two lanes now closed
According to traffic service Inrix, all traffic is being held currently on the southbound carriageway.
The update reads: "All traffic being temporarily held and queueing traffic due to accident on M6 Southbound from J17 A534 Old Mill Road (Sandbach / Crewe) to J16 A500 (Stoke-On-Trent / Crewe)."
