M48 shut completely after junction with M4 due to crash - live updates

Part of the M48 in Monmouthshire is closed following a crash. According to traffic service Inrix the road has been closed since 3am on Saturday morning.

The road is affected from junction 2 at the Wye Valley link road, Chepstow, to the M4 junction 23 in Rogiet. Diversions are in place. Traffic cameras in the area are currently not in use. For the biggest stories in Wales first, sign up to our daily newsletter here

A Gwent Police spokesman said: "The M48 is currently closed Westbound from Junction 2.

"Diversions are in place which may cause congestion.

"Please avoid the area if possible and find alternative routes for your journey."
