Live updates as A465 crash shuts road

A serious crash has shut part of the A465 in Resolven. The incident happened at around 7am on Tuesday morning affecting the traffic heading towards Swansea.

The road remains closed from B4434 Commercial Road near Resolven roundabout to A4230 Main Road near Aberdulais roundabout. According to traffic service Inrix the road is shut while investigation work is carried out. Stay informed on everything Neath Port Talbot by signing up to our newsletter here

South Wales Police advised motorists that the closure may be in place for some time. A spokesman for the force said: "We are at the scene of a serious road traffic collision on the A465 southbound carriageway resulting in both lanes being closed between Resolven and Neath. The road is expected to be closed for some time. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible. Delays are expected in the area."
