LIVE: Police tape off street with CSI on scene - latest updates
Police have cordoned off a road in Leigh this morning as detectives carry out forensic work.
Pictures from the scene show a number of police cars on St Helen's Road near Pennington Hall Park. Eyewitnesses say the road is taped off from the junction of St Helens Road and Atherleigh Way to Lonsdale Avenue, with motorists being asked to divert from the scene.
Forensic officers are carrying out investigations at the scene on Sunday morning (September 23). The exact nature of the incident is currently unclear.
