What Sofyan Amrabat said after Manchester United debut vs Burnley

Manchester United's Sofyan Amrabat has thanked supporters for the warm reception he received after making his debut in the victory over Burnley at Turf Moor.

The Morocco international came on in the last five minutes for United as they looked to secure their narrow victory over the Clarets. While Amrabat was not on the pitch long enough for the fans to get a sense of what is to come from the midfielder, it was nonetheless pleasing to see a new signing make his first appearance.

Amrabat's debut was delayed after he sustained an injury that forced him to leave international duty early. But the 27-year-old's debut was worth the wait as he helped see out the win as United got back to winning ways after a dismal few weeks for the club.

Taking to Instagram after the match, Amrabat sent the following message: "Amazing feeling to make my debut, happy with the win. Thanks for the warm welcome."

One of his teammates to respond in the comments was Kobbie Mainoo who replied with a clapping emoji. For Amrabat and his Reds teammates it was a good day at the office.

After a back-and-forth first half that saw Jonny Evans' goal ruled out for offside by VAR, United managed to secure the breakthrough in stoppage time. A fantastic ball over the top from Evans was superbly finished by Bruno Fernandes in what would be the only goal of the game.

The win sees United move up to eighth in the Premier League table while their opponents Burnley drop to the bottom.
