LIVE: Major police presence and reports of 'chaos' near Manchester city centre as Galatasaray fans march to Old Trafford

There is a major police presence across parts of Manchester this evening following reports of 'chaos' as thousands of Galatasaray fans marched to Old Trafford ahead of their side's Champsion's League tie against United.

Video taken from Chapel Street in Salford showed the moment a huge crowd walked past ahead of the clash at 8pm.

There have been unconfirmed reports of a bus being damaged, with fans also 'urinating' along side streets. Witnesses reported seeing a significant police presence trying to contain the crowds as they walked towards the stadium.

Stagecoach also announced that, as the crowds walked along Chapel Street, traffic was 'at a standstill'. One local resident said that they then headed down Oldfield Road.

Greater Manchester Police have been approached for more details.

One resident who lives in a flat off Chapel Street told the M.E.N: "There were loads of people chanting super loud and running around with a load of police cars too.

"They were wearing their teams kit too, and people were running down residential streets to basically p**s wherever they could.

"Before it happened, like 15 minutes before, I was walking from Salford Central back home and there were loads police ready to sort the traffic out. They did a cracking job at trying to keep it under control."
