BREAKING: Police block off A6 in Longsight amid ongoing incident - live updates

Police have blocked off the A6 (Stockport Road) in Longsight this evening due to an ongoing incident.

Buses are being diverted with the busy main road closed in both directions. Witnesses have reported seeing a number of police vehicles at the scene.

The road is closed currently from the junction Plymouth Grove, close to the Newbank Health Centre and the Islamic Academy of Manchester.
