Main road taped off after boy, 16, hit by police vehicle in serious crash - updates
A police cordon is in place on a main road through Bolton this morning after a boy was injured in a serious crash involving a police vehicle.
A stretch of St Helens Road through Daubhill is currently shut. It is closed near the junction with Church Avenue.
Pictures show multiple police vehicles on the scene. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police confirmed officers were responding to a serious incident this morning.

A spokesperson said: "GMP are currently responding to a collision involving a police vehicle and a 16-year-old pedestrian boy that happened at around 7am today on St Helens Road, Bolton.
"The full extent of the injuries sustained are unknown at this time with a scene still in place."

In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said:
"Greater Manchester Police are currently responding to a collision involving a police vehicle and a 16-year-old pedestrian boy that happened at around 7am today (Friday 6 October 2023) on St Helens Road, Bolton.
"The full extent of the injuries sustained are unknown at this time with a scene is still in place whilst enquires continue.
"Delays are expected as a result and drivers are encouraged to find alternative routes.
"Anyone with information that may help officers is
