LIVE: Police tape off Manchester street as officers respond to serious incident - latest updates

A south Manchester street has been taped off by police following an incident overnight.

Police are in attendance on Morville Road, in Chorlton, this morning (March 11) with a cordon in place.

The Manchester Evening News understands that emergency services first attended the scene late on Monday night.

An image from the scene shows the street has been taped off at the junction with Badminton Road.

Witnesses reported seeing armed police in the area at around 11pm on Monday, with a police helicopter also seen above the street.

At least one Greater Manchester Police car is currently in attendance, with the street sealed off.

Further details about the nature of the incident are yet to be confirmed. A reporter is on their way to the scene this morning.
