LIVE Police tape off main road following serious collision 'involving cyclist' - latest updates
Police have taped off a main road in south Manchester this evening (Wednesday, March 19) following reports of a serious collision involving a cyclist.
Emergency services are currently at the scene on Southmoor Road in Wythenshawe, at the junction of Altrincham Road.
A large cordon is in place with paramedics and officers at the scene. Traffic is being diverted currently amid the response to the incident.

The scene is in place at the crossing near Lidl and Tesco supermarket. The road is blocked off between Timpson Road and A560 Altrincham Road. Live traffic service Inrix has reported the crash involved a car and a cyclist.
Greater Manchester Police have been contacted for a statement.

Due to a road traffic collision, there is no tram service operating between Sale Water Park and Martinscroft.
Tickets and passes are being accepted on the 23, 25, 41, 43, 85a, 101, 103, 248, 249, 368 bus services. Simply show the driver your Metrolink ticket or pass when boarding.
Tickets and passes are also being accepted on all Northern Rail and TransPennine rail services between the airport and city centre... In addition to public transport, there are several destinations on this line that can be easily reached by walking.
There are currently no Metrolink services passing through the area between Sale Water Park and Martins Croft
This is affecting the airport line.
Passengers can use their Metrolink tickets on the 23, 25, 41, 43, 85a, 101, 103, 248, 249, 368 bus services.
