LIVE: Metrolink services suspended on Manchester Airport line after incident with air ambulance called - updates

Services on a Metrolink line is suspended this afternoon following an ongoing incident.

Trams between Manchester Airport and Wythenshawe town centre have been stopped following a reported crash. It is understood to have taken place at Robinswood Road tram stop.

Pictures have shown an air ambulance landing nearby with emergency services at the scene.

Manchester Metrolink tweeted: "Due to a road traffic collision, no services are operating between Manchester Airport and Wythenshawe Town Centre. Services will still operate between Victoria and Wythenshawe Town Centre. Ticket acceptance is in place on the 11, 43, 101 and 103 bus services."

Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) is reporting a collision is the reason for the trams being suspended this afternoon.
