Netflix fans do a double take at 'wild inclusion' in new Gal Gadot film

Heart of Stone viewers were left perplexed when they noticed an unusual costume choice for one of the film's bad guys.

The action thriller sees Gal Gadot star as secret agent Rachel Stone, who has to go to extreme lengths to stop an artificial intelligence system from getting into the wrong hands. Directed by Peaky Blinders' Tom Harper, the film sees Jamie Dornan's character Parker revealed as Rachel's double-crossing spy partner.

In one scene, Rachel is in Senegal when she's chased by locals - a set up by Parker. It was that then viewers were left shocked - as one character was bizarrely wearing a Middlesbrough football shirt.

Viewers quickly took to Twitter to share their surprise at the random moment. Many were quick to point out the actor can be seen wearing a 2009/10 edition Middlesbrough FC shirt.

@JamieMcLone tweeted: "Not often you see a ⁦@Boro shirt on a bad guy in a movie. Just watching the new Netflix No.1 movie @HeartOfStone with ⁦@GalGadot and I was sure I saw a Senegalese hitman in an old replica shirt."

@Cameron17Harris added: "Did not expect to see an old @Boro shirt in #HeartOfStone. Wild inclusion @netflix" and @bigreegs1985 exclaimed: "Watching 'Heart of Stone' on Netflix with Gal Gadot and the bad guy in it is wearing a Boro top. Howling!"

One Middlesbrough supported claimed they added the film to their Netflix watch list after finding out about the inclusion, while others said they had to rewind the film to double-check what they'd seen.

Gadot stars opposite Dornan as MI6 agent Parker and Alia Bhatt stars as
