LIVE: Main road in Reddish closed off by police after incident

Emergency services have descended on a busy Stockport road this evening following an incident. Police are in attendance on Broadstone Road, in Reddish, tonight (February 24).

It's believed that officers are responding to a collision. A cordon is in place, with tape blocking off part of Broadstone Road.

An update from the Inrix traffic monitoring system said: "Broadstone Road in both directions blocked, queueing traffic due to traffic problem at Houldsworth Street." Eyewitnesses have reported a large emergency services presence in the area.

The incident is close to Broadstone Mill and the Grey Horse pub. Further details about the nature of the incident are yet to be confirmed.

Greater Manchester Police and Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service have both been approached for further details.
