Live M62 traffic updates as car fire leaves lanes closed - latest updates

Lanes are closed on the M62 following a fire near Greater Manchester today (Wednesday, August 6).

Two lanes are shut to traffic on the westbound carriageway between Junction 22 and Junction 21.

The incident was first reported shortly after 8.30pm.

Inrix, the traffic data company, said: "Two lanes closed and slow traffic due to vehicle fire and surface water on M62 Westbound from J22 A672 (Rishworth Moor) to J21 A6193 Sir Isaac Newton Way (Milnrow).

"Lanes one and two (of three) are closed. Cameras show that an additional lane closure of lane two is now in place."

Traffic returned to normal, earlier vehicle fire and surface water subsided on M62 Westbound from J22 A672 (Rishworth Moor) to J21 A6193 Sir Isaac Newton Way (Milnrow).
Lanes one and two (of three) were closed, however all lanes have now been re-opened. S

The lanes remain closed as of 9.45pm.
