Live Bank Holiday traffic updates today as crashes reported on M25, M1 and A30

Motorists across the UK are facing disruption due to crashes on motorways and other major roads across the country today (Sunday, August 24).

A crash has left the M1 motorway closed to traffic in Bedfordshire, with severe delays building as a result.

Elsewhere, the M25 is blocked in Surrey due to a crash involving a motorbike, with the air ambulance called to the scene.

In Cornwall, the A30 was also shut due to a police-led incident. However that closure has now been lifted.

Roads are also busier than usual due to Bank Holiday traffic across the UK.

National Highways has confirmed the closure on the M25 clockwise in Surrey has been reduced to one lane.

A National Highways spokesperson said:

Traffic has been released on the M25 anti-clockwise between J6 and J5 near Godstone, Surrey following a collision involving a motorcyclist. Traffic remains stopped on the clockwise carriageway between J5 and J6. Delays of 50 mins clockwise and 40 mins anti-clockwise. "

The southbound carriageway of the M1 is currently shut in Bedfordshire.

Traffic is stopped in both directions due to a crash on the M25 in Surrey. The air ambulance is attending the scene.
